Post Conference Excursion

A post conference excursion will from Saturday 25th midday to Sunday 26th evening (options to return to Trondheim earlier will be available). For non-FUNCiTREE participants the cost of the excursion is 1500 kr (it includes transportation, accommodation and meals). The number of participants is limited to 40.

We will visit the typical cultural landscapes of the outer cost of central Norway, staying at the island of Hitra http://www.e-pages.dk/visitnorway/476/100.

May 25th

Leave Trondheim – from Gløshaugen

 

Hitra. Stop at a rich coastal deciduous forest  Sjømyråsen

17:00

Check in at Dolmsundet hotel

 

Visit to the cultural heritage area at Dolmen

19:00

Dinner at Fjellværgård in the Fjellvær island

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                               

May 26th

Check out and leave Dolmen hotel

10:00

Visit SALMAR acquaculture on the island of Frøya

12:00

Visit a local farm with year-round free ranging sheep

14:00

Lunch at Mausund. 

15:00

Fishing tour in the archipielago

18:00

Return to Trondheim (arrival ca 21:00)

 

We can expect shifting weather with relatively high chances for rain, and chilly and windy weather. The area has oceanic climate, it is therefore moist and we expect the vegetation and the ground to be rather wet. You can check the weather forecast for Hitra at www.yr.no .

Recommended clothing                                                  

-          Hicking shoes, preferably water proof or rubber boots.

-           Water proof garment.

-          Warm clothes: hat, gloves, scarf, socks, pullover.

-          Extra shift of clothes (in case we get wet).

If you wish, you can leave part of your luggage in Trondheim and bring along a small bag or backpack to the excursion.
